Bourton on the Hill
Today was a more restful day. We did some driving through small towns and some walking through a few little villages. Some of these pics are taken while driving. (I wasn't driving.) The first place we headed for was Bourton on the Hill and these are some scenes along the way. There was a bit of haze in places.
I am finding that I still cannot get used to this:
This is just wrong! |
Moreton in Marsh
We stopped briefly in this little place of Moreton in Marsh.
I know y'all won't believe this but, the weather changes more frequently here than in Kansas. Every day it rains 3 or 4 times with breaks of sunshine in between and it can change in seconds.
Chipping Campden
This was my favorite place today. We saw several cottages with thatched roofs and there were flowers everywhere which is really something because a lot of these folks have no room for flower gardens. You will instead see the flowers climbing the walls and houses on many of them.
Also--had a problem with my camera today and then with my computer--arghh! So all of these pics are completely "just as taken" with no cropping out the bad stuff, but I think I do OK most of the time! I try to get it right the first time...

Taken while riding in the car. |
Notice the sky drama |
Pictures do not do this countryside justice. You really have to be here... |
You may have noticed I am partial to churches. Love to photograph them. Also, take note of the clouds in each picture and you will see what I mean by swift changes in weather. It has been that way all week.
This picture should be a painting. |
And now he is replacing the garbage can! Yea! |
This one looked rather Narnian |
Broadway Tower
The story goes that some rich guy built this tower for no reason at all. Just because he could.
Broadway (not New York)
This was a pretty much just a drive through for us, but of course I had to get the church. You can see the clouds building again in the second pic.
Snowshill/Stanway/Stanton
The next and final three locations were very close together and we just drove through them.
